Trinity Hall Diversity & Equality Policy
Last reviewed: 21/01/2026
Trinity Hall is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive and respectful living environment where
everyone is treated with dignity and fairness. We are dedicated to ensuring that no resident, staff
member, contractor or visitor experiences discrimination, bullying, harassment or victimisation.
We value diversity and believe it strengthens our community. Our aim is to provide a welcoming
student accommodation environment that supports wellbeing, personal development and academic
success. We strive to create a culture where differences are respected, individuality is celebrated and
everyone feels safe, included and able to thrive.
Trinity Hall is committed to working inclusively with the diverse communities in which we are located
and to developing a student and staff community that reflects the rich diversity of the United Kingdom.
Equality, diversity and inclusion are central to our responsibilities as a student accommodation
provider.
We promote equality and prevent discrimination through our roles as an accommodation service
provider, an employer, and a community and business partner. We are committed to following best
practice in all areas of equality and inclusion.
We work to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, bullying and victimisation, promote
equality of opportunity for all, foster mutual respect and understanding, encourage positive
relationships between people from different backgrounds, celebrate shared values while recognising
diversity, and take account of individual needs and differences to ensure fair outcomes.
In line with the Equality Act 2010, Trinity Hall recognises and protects individuals from discrimination
on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or
maternity, race (including colour, nationality and ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex, and
sexual orientation. Discrimination on any of these grounds will not be tolerated
We also recognise that equality and inclusion go beyond legally protected characteristics. Life
circumstances and opportunities can affect people’s experiences, and we therefore take account of
factors including, but not limited to cultural, social and economic background, physical, mental and
emotional health, neurodiversity, language and communication needs, and the physical and social
environment.
All members of the Trinity Hall community are expected to uphold the principles of this policy. We
provide clear procedures for raising concerns, respond to reports fairly and confidentially, make
reasonable adjustments where required, and regularly review our practices to ensure continuous
improvement.
This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective, relevant and compliant with current
legislation and best practice
